 Areal Flood Advisory  Statement as of 7:06 PM CDT on September 16, 2014


The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued an

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Travis County...
southern Williamson County...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 706 PM CDT... National Weather Service meteorologists have
detected slow moving thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the
advisory area... which includes the northern part of the Austin
Metro area and extending east to Taylor. Doppler radar estimates
and surface observations suggest that 1 to 2 inches of rain have
already fallen around Round Rock.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding
include... Anderson Mill... Cedar Park... Pflugerville... Round Rock...
Taylor... Windemere and Hutto.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
